Scottish Premiership: Rangers protests, Celtic win again, European battle twist & what is live on Sky?

We take a look at wins for the Old Firm, Dundee United moving into third, Aberdeen dropping more points and St Johnstone's struggles - all ahead of Dundee vs Celtic and Rangers vs Aberdeen live on Sky Sports this week.

Rangers will look to make it back-to-back wins when they face struggling Aberdeen on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports, as they look to win the support back despite their title challenge being all but over.

Manager Philippe Clement has new chief executive Patrick Stewart's support, but that did not stop the pre-planned walkout by a section of the Ibrox crowd as they led St Johnstone 3-1.

After dropping points away to Hibs and Dundee, it was a case of getting the three points on Sunday, with fans unwilling to accept any further slip-ups and Celtic 15 points clear at the top after just 22 games.

Rangers' return to winning ways piled more misery on struggling Saints.

They gave away cheap goals and their defensive frailties show why they find themselves nine points adrift at the bottom of the table.

A better second-half performance and a consolation goal were some positives but the challenge they now face to save their top-flight status is huge.

Simo Valakari's side are now nine games without a league win, matching their last joint-longest winless streak that ran from August to October 2023.

Brendan Rodgers hailed Celtic's "strength and resilience" to win at Ross County with the manager hoping his injury worries will ease for Tuesday's Premiership game at Dundee, live on Sky Sports.

With only one fit winger, Kyogo Furuhashi was moved out wide but it did not hamper the Japan international as he looked back to his best with two goals.

The Staggies put their opponents under pressure but again Rodgers' side showed they have what it takes to win and strengthen their grip on another Premiership title.

A trip to Dens Park is next up. Tony Docherty's side will be fresh after a free weekend and buoyed by their 1-1 draw against Rangers last time out, but it's a ground Celtic are unbeaten at in their last 35 away games.

Jimmy Thelin threw his two new signings straight into Aberdeen's starting line-up against Hearts but their winless run continues after a crucial penalty save saw them claim a point at Pittodrie.

They started strongly but a poor second-half showing means it is now 11 games without a victory, in stark contrast to 10 wins from their opening 11 matches earlier this season.

It is a quick return to action with a trip to Ibrox on Wednesday night, but a vast improvement will be required if they are to shock Rangers again after winning 2-1 in their first meeting of the season.

While Aberdeen's current form has been dismal, Dundee United have continued to pick up points and move into third spot.

Jim Goodwin's side have scored in 18 of their 23 games this season - only bettered by Celtic who have netted in 20 matches - and they've kept a clean sheet eight times, with the Old Firm the only two teams to have done more often.

This time it was Louis Moult's late screamer that saw them beat St Mirren 1-0 as the Tannadice club returned to winning ways.

It was not a vintage performance from Jim Goodwin's side but they got over the line again and despite this being their first season back in the top-flight - they've taken another step towards clinching European football.
